An impressive barn designed for ease of living and featuring the old haypole, once used on the farm as the foundation for building the hayricks in years gone by.

There are lots of other interesting features such as locally made stained glass windows, gallery landing and the original boarded ceilings.

Polished wood and slate floors throughout give the rooms a fresh and open feel, with two sets of french windows opening on to the barbecue area and the garden outside.

The four bedrooms are arranged with two double rooms upstairs and one twin room downstairs, each with ensuite shower room with WC, plus a bunks room upstairs which is close to a separate bathroom.

FACILITIES

Courtyard Barns are exceptionally well equipped, this includes, in the kitchens:  a  gas rayburn and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine and in the living area: a  gas 'woodburner', traditional farmhouse dining table,  TV and video or DVD player.

Also provided is all the bed linen, an iron and ironing board, one cot and high chair per barn.  (Please note that we do not provide cot bedding). The barns have gas central heating throughout.

 Easy access to the games room, swimming pool (May - September) and giant sandpit and all the riverside walks you could wish for!

Fishing on the smaller trout stream is free, one travel cot and high chair per barn is also complimentary, but baby bedding is not supplied - most people prefer to bring their own.

EXTRAS

Fly fishing on the River Ottery costs £10/rod/day.  Use of tumble driers in the Laundry, situated off the shared courtyard.

We regret, no smoking inside the barns and no pets in the Courtyard Barns.

A £100 security deposit is payable to John and Alison on arrival at Sandmartins or Haypole Barn, which is returnable within 7 days of departure.
