North Petherwin is a secluded and picturesque village nestling in the rolling hills and secluded valleys between the historic town of Launceston and the Camel estuary. North Petherwin is an excellent base from which to tour Cornwall. Within 30 minutes drive, or less, from the village you will find a wide range of attractions, including:

• Port Isaac The village harbour looks out to sea over a pier built in the reign of Henry VIII. There are many delightful and interesting walks around the village, along the coast paths and in the surrounding countryside. Although a popular holiday destination, the village retains its peaceful old world charm

• Tintagel the King Arthur Legend; a dramatic landscape evoking the myth and legend associated with Britain's most famous leader. The cliff walks from the village take you into some of the most dramatic and inspiring scenery of the north coast

• Boscastle famous harbour and witches museum; a truly beautiful village that captures the very essence of days gone by

• Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. Two stunning areas that you can explore

• The Camel 17 miles of flat traffic-free cycling and Trail walking alongside the River Camel; park in the centre of Wadebridge, hire a bike and cycle on the level trail to Padstow

• Bodmin Old capital of Cornwall with famous gaol

• Bodmin and Wendford Steam Railway super steam through super countryside!

• Pencarrow lovely House and Gardens

• Polzeath surf and a vast, flat and sandy beach

• Rock sailing and windsurfing - passenger ferry across the estuary to Padstow

• Daymer Bay large flat family beach, good parking. This is Betjeman country, so make sure that you walk across the golf links to St. Enodoc Church - Betjeman's favourite church and final resting place

• CAMRA Pub of the Year Blisland Inn. Blisland

Padstow Busy fishing village - home of the May Day 'obby' oss and the famous 'Seafood Restaurant'. Padstow has some very good family beaches located on the estuary, a short walking distance to the north of the village.
